We New Zealanders love our jandals and claim them as one of the great Kiwi icons. But Brazilians have an equally passionate attachment to flip-flops as an essential part of their culture – it’s said you won’t find a man, woman or child in Brazil without a pair of Havaianas.

To date, 3 billion pairs of the famous Havaianas flip-flops have been sold around the world. And proving you can bring coals to Newcastle, they’ve found their own enormously popular niche in New Zealand.

This wee gem of a shop at Britomart is the first flip-flops concept store in New Zealand, decked with Havaianas jandals of every colour and design. Tiny baby pairs, World Cup-inspired national flag designs, limited-edition prints and Swarovski crystal-adorned styles are layered in bright strata over an entire wall.

You can pimp your Havaianas with pininiho charms, exclusive to The Concept Store, for cute customisation or a touch of bling. There’s also a fantastic range of jandal-inspired accessories, from fairy lights to lilos to USB drives.

In winter The Concept Store will also stock Po-Zu footwear, the super-comfortable eco-boots and shoes already popular overseas.
