Red Bull Unleashes a New Drift Car in Britomart
29 Aug 08To celebrate the new relationship between Red Bull Motorsport and Drift Driver ‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett there was a very special unleashing demonstration in Britomart Carpark.
After 4 months under wraps getting a complete engine rebuild and facelift, Mike set his tyres squealing as he demonstrated his drifting skills to hundreds of fans at 7pm on Friday the 29th of August.
The demonstration was held in conjunction with the launch of the custom built Mazda RX7 in Performance Car magazine. TV3 were present to cover the spectacle and do a delayed live interview with Mike onsite.
After the 20 minute demonstration the crowd headed indoors to the Union Fish Building where media and industry friends and partners were invited to a private party to celebrate this launch and to get a closer look at the car and meet with Mike.
DJ CXL played a set to the crowd of dancing party people who were enjoying the benefits of the vodka and Red Bull.
