From hiking packs to camping gear

Macpac began in Christchurch with a backpack – New Zealand’s first internal-frame climbing pack – designed by founder Bruce McIntyre for his mountaineering mates in 1975. Today it’s one of the world’s most trusted outdoor brands, known for its innovative designs, revolutionary fabrics and relentless focus on performance.

In 2008 Macpac joined forces with New Zealand’s other iconic outdoor brand, Fairydown, allowing customers to get the best of both brands in one place.
