It’s this year’s most keenly-awaited event in the motoring world: the launch of Land Rover’s new compact SUV, the Range Rover Evoque.

The arrival of any new model from iconic carmaker Land Rover is something of a sensation for car enthusiasts. The Evoque, however, has attracted particular interest as the sportiest, most fuel-efficient Range Rover ever built. It’s already won a raft of international car awards and the first 18,000 Evoques were sold before they even rolled off the production line.

To celebrate the Evoque’s arrival, Land Rover has rolled out a global tour called Evoque Live, an interactive exhibition that allows the public to get up close and personal with the new car.

Britomart is hosting the New Zealand section of the Evoque Live tour, which will be open to the public for nine days on the Britomart Central Site adjacent to the Showcase.

The event opens at 10am on Saturday 22 October, with live entertainment being provided by George FM from 4pm to 6pm.

Visitors will be able to get hands-on with both the Evoque five-door and Evoque Coupe three-door models. You’ll be able to check out the extensive range of personalisation options including interior design themes, roof options, accessories, equipment and exterior styling packs.

At the Customisation Hub you’ll be able to take part in an interactive film, making narrative choices that result in a personalised recommendation for your ideal Evoque. You’ll then be able to fully spec and cost your own bespoke model.

The exhibition also features an interactive ‘Pulse of the City’ wall where visitors can upload images, sounds and comments demonstrating what they love about Auckland, contributing to Land Rover’s global Pulse of the City project.

Evoque Live will be on at Britomart until Sunday 30 October.
